Government seeks to stifle AAP’s voice to save Congress-Akali liquor smugglers
Aam Aadmi Party will continue to raise its voice against all forms of mafia

Condemning the case filed against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders for protesting outside Lambi police station on Friday, demanding arrest of the accused in the case related to spurious liquor factory busted at Badal village, the AAP termed it as an act of suppressing the voice of the people. In a joint statement issued on Saturday, AAP MLAs Kultar Singh Sandhwan, Prof Baljinder Kaur and Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, condemned the filing of cases against the leaders struggling for rights. They said that instead of filing cases against the AAP leaders and workers, Captain Amarinder Singh should take action against his leaders and the Badals in the liquor mafia.
The AAP leaders said that the people of Punjab were disturbed by various mafias but Captain Amarinder Singh was engaged in a battle for his seat. “Captain has so far not done justice to the nearly 100 people who have lost their lives to counterfeit liquor in the Majha area nor has he taken any action against the culprits of various illicit liquor factories operating in his home district of Patiala,” said the leaders. They said this proved that Captain Amarinder Singh was also backing the drug smugglers like the Badals.
The leaders further said that while fighting for the rights, they would not be afraid of these FIRs but the rights of the people would be given to them. They expressed surprise that so far the police had not even got the land details in the case of spurious liquor, which proved that the police wanted to save the accused. The AAP leaders said that people of Punjab now knew that the Akali and Congress were running all sorts of mafia together and they would retaliate in future.
