Directs to ensure the guidelines within stipulated time frame

Additional Deputy Commissioner Ms. Komal Mittal while presiding over the meeting of District Environment Committee at District Administrative Complex, said that every department should ensure strict adherence to the directions of National Green Tribunal. She apprised that the Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) has issued instructions to the concerned departments pertaining to safeguarding the environment and would apprise the NGT about actions being taken. Therefore the work should be done in a time bound manner and the Punjab Pollution Control Board should be informed regarding this.
During the meeting Additional Deputy Commissioner reviewed the work of various departments regarding solid waste management, medical waste, e-waste, water conservation, sewage treatment plant. She instructed the various departments to abide by the directions given by the NGT and each & every department should fulfill its responsibilities in letter and spirit. She strictly instructed that any laxity in this regard can’t be tolerated and appropriate action would be taken against that department.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Mr. Himanshu Aggarwal directed the officers of the concerned departments to ensure that the decisions being taken during the meeting be implemented within stipulated time frame so that Punjab Pollution Control Board could be informed to National Green Tribunal in a timely manner.
Other officers including executive officers of Municipal Councils were present on the occasion.
