The Intensified Pulse Polio Immunisation (IPPI) Programme- 2022 commenced at various sub-divisional levels, such as Nubra, Khaltse and Nyoma of the Leh district.

At Nubra sub-division, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Nubra, Lakshay Singhal inaugurated the pulse polio immunisation programme at Sub-District Hospital (SDH), Diskit in the presence of Block Medical Officer, Diskit and other concerned staff of the hospital.

SDM Nubra appreciated the medical teams for their excellent and efficient work.
A total target of 1720 children between 0-5 years would be immunised, including 1549 local and 171 non-local children at 75 pulse polio booths in the Nubra sub-division.

A similar IPPI programme was held at Khaltse sub-division wherein Sarpanch Khaltse, Nawang Rigzin inaugurated the Pulse Polio Immunisation Programme by giving polio drops to a 7-days old baby at Community Health Centre (CHC) Khaltse. Also, he flagged off the supervisor teams of Khaltse Block.

In Khaltse sub-division, a total of 1200 children below five years would be immunised, including 117 non-local children at 68 polio booths.

BMO, Khaltse, Dr Chamba Laskit engaged 272 manpower including medical staff, Anganwadi workers and ASHA for various Polio Booths along with 13 Supervisor teams and three mobile teams in sub-division Khaltse.

Meanwhile, at Nyoma sub-division the Intensified Pulse Polio Programme was inaugurated by Nambardar, Nyoma, Padma Namdol and Station House Officer (SHO), Nyoma, Jamyang Tsepel by administering polio drops to two children at Primary Health Centre (PHC), Nyoma.

In Nyoma sub-division, a total of 844 children below five years would be immunised, including five non-local children at 63 polio booths.163 staff consisting of ASHA and Anganwadi workers are engaged in this immunization drive along with seven supervisors.
