International Gita Mahotsava-2021 will begin today with the worship of the holy book, Gita. This time the festival of International Gita Mahotsava will be celebrated on December 14 and before this festival on December 9 Gita Pujan, Brahmsarovar Pujan and Gita Yajna will be held in Purushotampura Bagh of Brahmasarovar at around 11:15 am.

Haryana Governor, Sh. Bandaru Dattatraya, Gujarat Governor, Dr. Devvrat Arya will reach to inaugurate this festival. In this inaugural programme, Gita Manishi Swami Shri Gyananand ji Maharaj, Haryana Tourism and Education Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal, Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Sh. Sandeep Singh, General GD Bakshi, MP, Sh. Naib Singh Saini, MLA, Sh. Subhash Sudha will also participate.
Giving information in this regard, an official spokesperson said that the Saras and Shilp Mela of International Gita Mahotsav-2021 has already started from December 2 and this festival will be formally inaugurated on December 9 and the main programmes of the festival will continue till December 14. However, the Saras and Shilp Mela will continue till December 19. Preparations for the launch of this festival are being done at Purushotampura Bagh, Brahmasarovar.
In this festival, on December 9, at 10 am, there will be recitation of Shrimad Bhagavad Gita at Jyotisar, the birth place of the holy Gita. After this, Gita Yajna and Gita Pujan will be held at Purushotampura Bagh, Brahmasarovar at 11:15 pm, at 12 noon, International Gita Seminar will be organized at Shrimad Bhagvad Gita Sadan of Kurukshetra University. Maha Aarti will be held at Purushotampura Bagh, Brahmasarovar at 5:30 pm while cultural programmes based on Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav will be held at 6 pm.
Like every year during the festival, this year also the responsibility of organizing International Gita Seminar has been entrusted to the Kurukshetra University Administration. This seminar will last for 3 days. Apart from this, Sant Sammelan will be held on December 12, complete Gita recitation at Jyotisar, the birthplace of Gita will be held from December 12 to 14, global Gita recitation on December 14, Bhajan Sandhya till December 19, while regional cuisine along with Haryana Pavilion will also be the centre of attraction. He said that 48 kos Kurukshetra exhibition, cultural programme, Gita book fair, state level exhibition would be organized at Purushottampura Bagh from December 9 to 14 and on December 14, Deepotsav and 48 kos pilgrimage conference would also be the centre of attraction.
