Jaipur, April 18. Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot said that the people of Rajasthan have wholeheartedly extended help through Chief Minister’s Relief Fund or other means whenever there is any natural calamity or crisis in any State of the country. “It has been the great tradition of Rajasthan to help the victims in calamity and we all are proud of this,” he said.
Shri Gehlot was addressing the launch programme of the website rajcmmementos.com at his official residence on Monday. This website has been developed for the online auction of mementos received by him on various occasions as Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister said, “Taking ahead the glorious tradition of extending help to the victim in the hour of crisis, I have taken the initiative of auctioning the mementos online. It is our endeavour that the proceeds from the auction is used as Gap Funding for the treatment of needy and poor patients.” For this, a separate fund named Nirogi Rajasthan is made within the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. He said that the Government is working towards strengthening preventive medicine.
Shri Gehlot hoped that this innovation will make the auction process more transparent. He said that to make the people of the State free from the burden of treatment expenses, the Government started ambitious schemes like Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana, in which cashless treatment is being provided up to Rs 10 lakh. Besides this, IPD and OPD services have been made free of cost at the medical institutions under Mukhyamantri Nishulk Nirogi Rajasthan Yojana.
Bharat Seva Sansthan Vice Chairman and Rajasthan Small Industries Corporation Chairman Shri Rajiv Arora said that on the initiative of Chief Minister Shri Gehlot, people earlier too had cooperated wholeheartedly in the memento auction programme to help the martyrs of Kargil and families affected by tsunami. Programmes were also organised to help people affected by the earthquake in Gujarat and floods in Kashmir and Kerala. Now moving ahead in this direction, an initiative has been taken to auction them online. Any person can see the mementos on this website and their minimum price is also displayed. The online auction will be done on April 25, followed by the offline auction of mementos and gifts on May 3.
Bharat Seva Sansthan secretary Shri GS Bafna while extending gratitude to the guests said that around 200 souvenirs and gifts will be available for the online auction. Assembly Speaker Dr CP Joshi, Members of Council of Ministers, chairman of Commissions and Corporations, MLAs, Chief Secretary Smt Usha Sharma and other senior officers were present in the programme.
