J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology signs MoU with Royal Enfield to provide training in various categories of two-wheeler maintenance and services

Chandigarh, February 2– J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA Faridabad has signed a Memorandum of  Understanding (MoU) with the world’s leading two-wheeler manufacturer Royal Enfield, a unit of  Eicher Motors Limited to provide training in various categories of two-wheeler maintenance and services.

Giving information in this regard, an official spokesperson of the University said that Royal Enfield will set up a State-of-the-Art ‘Royal Enfield Service Training Cell’ (Centre of Excellence) in the University premises at Faridabad. He said that this Training Cell will be the first of its kind in Haryana and expert trainers of Royal Enfield will be available at the centre to impart training to the students. He said that on behalf of the University, the Registrar of the University, Dr. Sunil Kumar Garg signed the MoU.

The Chairperson of Mechanical Engineering branch, Prof. Rajkumar, Dean Institutions, Prof. Tilak Raj, Dean Placement, Alumni and Corporate Affairs, Prof. Vikram Singh and Director Industry Relations, Dr Rashmi Popli were also present on this occasion. Head of Customer Experience from Royal Enfield, Arindam Chakraborty signed the MoU.

The spokesperson said that the Vice-Chancellor of University, Prof. Dinesh Kumar has expressed pleasure over the industrial tie-up to provide industry-specific technical skills to the students of Mechanical Engineering branch and to enhance their employability. Prof. Kumar said that the University is promoting such industry-academia partnership to fill the skill gap required for employment by providing them with a holistic and job-centric learning environment. It would also address the need of the industry to have skilled people, he added.

The spokesperson informed that the Regional Trainer from Royal Enfield, Abhishek Kumar apprised about this Training Centre. He said that this Training Centre is for skill development in the areas of Mechanical and Automobile branch of Engineering. Royal Enfield would conduct certification programmes for students and faculty members in the latest automobile technology by practically demonstrating the most scientific way of repair, maintenance and overhaul of motorcycles. The latest models of Royal Enfield would be demonstrated in this training centre before its launch, he added.

Prof. Raj Kumar said that this initiative would enhance the job opportunities for students by improving their practical knowledge and reducing the gap between industry and academia.
