JKAACL organizes vaccination camp for its employees, artists; around 200 inoculated
JAMMU, JUNE 10: The Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) today organized a vaccination camp for employees, young artists and writers associated with the Academy besides other allied workers there.
Around, 200 young artists and other front line workers falling in the age group of 18 to 44 years were vaccinated at the K L Sehgal hall of the Academy, Jammu. The Artists working in Jammu district and Dansal are also being vaccinated during the drive.
The vaccination drive is being conducted on the directions of Secretary JKAACL, Rahul Pandey.
The artists and other persons working in awareness camps and other culture activities of the Academy got the first dose of the vaccine during the drive. Those inoculated with the anti-covid-19 vaccine included writers, editors and many others working directly or indirectly with the Academy.
Additional Secretary JKAACL, Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, while speaking on the importance of holding vaccination camp for its artists, said that artists have been categorized as a priority group for vaccination by the government in view of their nature of work during which they come in public contact.
He said that the Culture department in coordination with the department of Family Welfare, MCH and Immunization and Health department shall ensure that all the artists get vaccinated.
The Culture department has urged upon all the artists working with the Academy to come forward for vaccination as it is important for their safety and safety of their families as well.
The employees and associated artists extended gratitude to the departments of Culture and Health for organizing vaccination drive for them.
Later, Dr Arvinder Singh Amn thanked the district administration and Health & Family Welfare departments for deploying a dedicated team of doctors and paramedics for the drive.
