Joint efforts yield good results in mitigation of Covid situation: DC Kupwara
KUPWARA, JUNE 18 2021 The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today said that the District Administration is working in a synergetic manner with involvement of various departments including Health, Police, Magistrates and Education department in mitigation of Covid-19 situation in the district. He expressed his satisfaction over the drastic decline of daily positive cases in the district.
The DC was addressing media persons here regarding COVID containment and mitigation measures in the district.
Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Kouser Amin was also present at the occasion.
Giving details, the DC said that the recovery rate has increased up to 94.01 person while, positivity rate has come down to 2.94 percent in the district. He congratulated Health Department Officials and all those persons involved in Covid-19 mitigation efforts for their hard work and good result.
The DC said that the number of total positive cases in the district is 13504 while the number of recovered patients is 12696. He said the district witnessed 157 deaths since the beginning of Covid-19.
He appealed the people of district Kupwara to religiously follow the Covid appropriate Behaviour (CAB) and attend nearest Vaccination centres for timely inoculation against Covid-19 pandemic.
He also appealed to media persons to promote positivity with regard to COVID containment efforts in the district, adding that press briefing twice a week is envisaged to give correct and appropriate information to the public and to stop every kind of misinformation or rumour mongering.
