Sandhwan made a fervent appeal to the Chief Minister to patiently look into the demands of these organizations working to safeguard and maintenance of ecological balance. He said recently the members of the said organizations had given him a memorandum expressing that the concrete & cemented alignment of canals would cause damage to the environment and ecology, which should be avoided.
Pointing out further, the Speaker, said that there was a nowhere water-logging problem in Faridkot or its adjoining areas and the cutting of trees will create environmental issues. He also urged the Chief Minister that if the work could not be halted then the stretch between Bholu Wala Pul and Machaki Mall Singh Wala should not be aligned with concrete and cemented on both sides of the canal.
