Chandigarh, December 28- Haryana Education Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal said that 8 acres, one Kanal, and 8 marla land has been identified in village Lisana for the construction of the building of Government College Rewari (Boys).
The Minister while responding to a question raised during the ongoing session of Vidhan Sabha here today said that after the land is transferred to the Higher Education Department, Haryana, the process of construction work of the college will be started as per the prescribed standards, which is likely to start by the year 2023-24.
He said that administrative approval of Rs 12 crore has been given by the department for the construction of the college building. There has been a tremendous infrastructural expansion in the field of higher education in Haryana.
In the year 2015, as announced by the Chief Minister for the construction of Government College Rewari (Boys). The college was constructed in the year 2017 by the state government and started functioning from the academic session 2017-18 in the temporary/alternative building.
The Education Minister said that 5.32 acres of land had been sanctioned by the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) for the construction of the college building in Sector-20 Rewari. The land for the college building was reduced to 5 acres instead of 5.32 acres and was allotted on a leasehold basis for 99 years at a nominal lease amount of Rs.100 per year.
