Language Minister Punjab, Mr. Harjot Singh Bains, expressed deep sorrow over the unfortunate and sad demise of Padma Shri S. Surjit Patar.
In a press statement issued here, Language Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that S. Patar made significant contributions to spreading and promoting the Punjabi language across the globe. He said that his passing is an irreparable personal loss.
Mr. Bains said that he has been greatly influenced by S. Patar’s humble, meek, and soft-spoken personality since his childhood days and said that S. Patar played an important role in shaping his life.
He added that S. Patar will always be remembered with respect for his notable contributions to the mother language.
Mr. Bains prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul and for strength for the bereaved family, friends, and well-wishers to bear this loss.
