To ensure supply of quality agrochemicals & seeds to farmers, the Chief agriculture officer has suspended the license of two Seed Stores of the district under section 7 of Seed Act 1966.
Disclosing this here today in a review meeting, the Assistant Deputy Commissioner (G) Ms. Komal Mittal said that the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare is conducting regular checking of pesticide, fertilizer and seed stores throughout the district to ensure quality agrochemicals and seeds supply to farmers. During the drive, irregularities have been found in M/s Thuha Pesticides and Seed Store Zirakpur and Rohit Fertilizers Kurali. The department already suspended the license of these firms and further action has already been initiated against them.
Pointing out that quality seeds are helping in increasing the productivity of crops, she emphasized that no spurious agrochemicals or seed have been allowed to be sold in the district.
