DHBVN Lineman held for taking bribe worth Rs 26000

Chandigarh, February 10 – Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has arrested a lineman of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) posted at Sub-Divisional village Chhiansha, Faridabad after he had accepted a bribe of Rs 26,000 from a person in lieu of making correction in the electricity bill.

          While sharing the details, a spokesperson of the Bureau informed that the arrested accused has been identified as Mansingh.

          Complainant Jagvinder is a resident of Fathepur Billoch village in Faridabad district. The accused demanded a bribe of Rs 26000 from him.

          Jagvinder approached the vigilance bureau and lodged a complaint against the accused employee following which a team of the agency conducted a raid in the presence of the duty magistrate and nabbed the accused official red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 26,000.

          A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act had been registered against the accused in Bureau’s police station, Faridabad. A further investigation is underway.
