Mahamari Alert/Surakshit Haryana extended till June 7, shops to remain open on odd-even basis

Now shops to remain open from 9 am to 3 pm, earlier the permitted time was from 7 am to 12 pm

Schools, Colleges, ITIs to remain closed

Chandigarh, May 30: In a bid to further put a break on community transmission, Haryana Government has decided to extend Mahamari Alert/Surakshit Haryana for another week that is till June 7, 2021 with major relaxations given for the opening of shopping malls  from 10 am to 6 pm.  The current restrictions under Mahamari Alert/Surakshit Haryana are ending on May 31, 2021, at 5:00 am.

This was announced by Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal while addressing a press conference here today.

The Chief Minister announced that as per the request made by the shopkeepers, vendors and businessmen regarding the extension of timings, now the shops can be opened from morning 9 am to 3 pm on odd-even basis. While earlier this timing was from 7 am to 12 pm.

However, the directions regarding the closure of schools, ITIs, Agangwadi and creches would continue till June 15 and 30 respectively, announced the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister said that the shopping malls have to follow the prescribed visitor and time limitations.  As per the  guidelines in the shopping mall one person per area of 25 square metres would be allowed to remain present at one time. Likewise, the number of persons can vary as per the built-up area. The mall owners have to develop a mobile application to keep a check on entry and exit of people visiting the Malls. Further, the mall owners have been asked to formulate certain regulations for the same and get it approved from the concerned Deputy Commissioners said the Chief Minister.

He said that directions were given to Industries for continuing  their operations while following the COVID-19 appropriate behavior and  guidelines for the functioning of offices with 50 percent staff strength would continue.
