Derogatory Remarks Against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Father Unforgivable;
Congress Losing Political Decency Out of Frustration Over Electoral Defeats; Abusive Language and Anarchy Cannot Weaken BJP’s Resolve: Bindal
Shimla, 26 October 2026
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Himachal Pradesh State President Dr. Rajeev Bindal strongly condemned the allegedly derogatory and insulting remarks made by Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s father. He said that while political differences are a natural part of democracy, using disrespectful language against someone’s late father is completely contrary to Indian culture, social values and democratic principles.
Dr. Bindal stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has dedicated his entire life to serving the nation and society. He described the alleged use of offensive language against the family of such a leader as deeply unfortunate and unacceptable.
He alleged that the language and attitude displayed by the Congress National President reflected the party’s growing political frustration and ideological bankruptcy.
“The Bharatiya Janata Party condemns such remarks in the strongest possible terms. Political leaders may disagree on policies, ideologies and governance, but nobody has the right to insult another person’s parents or family members,” Dr. Bindal said.
He demanded that Mallikarjun Kharge issue a public apology to the people of India for his alleged remarks.
The BJP State President further stated that instead of learning from its political failures and electoral defeats, the Congress party continues to target Prime Minister Narendra Modi through personal attacks.
He alleged that the Congress leadership was attempting to create bitterness and hostility in the political environment rather than accepting responsibility for its own shortcomings.
Dr. Bindal also accused the Congress leadership of attempting to create an atmosphere of instability and anarchy in the country.
He emphasised that India is a strong and vibrant democracy whose people would never accept attempts to undermine democratic institutions or constitutional values.
He urged Congress leaders to respect democratic traditions, constitutional institutions and the dignity of public discourse.
Referring to alleged discussions about creating Bangladesh-like political conditions in India, Dr. Bindal described such ideas as deeply concerning.
“India is a strong democratic nation. Political differences and disagreements must be resolved through constitutional and democratic processes, not through instability, confrontation or attempts to create anarchy,” he asserted.
Dr. Bindal said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India continues to move forward on the path of development, progress and national empowerment.
He maintained that abusive language, personal attacks and political allegations by Congress leaders would neither weaken the determination of BJP workers nor distract the party from its commitment to national development and public welfare.
“The BJP remains firmly committed to serving the nation, strengthening democratic values and advancing the vision of a developed India. No amount of political abuse or personal criticism can shake this commitment,” he said.
Dr. Bindal reiterated that Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge must publicly apologise for his alleged insulting remarks against the Prime Minister’s family.
He concluded by stating that maintaining political integrity, dignity, civility and respect for democratic traditions is the responsibility of every political party and its leadership.
“Political opposition is acceptable in a democracy, but personal insults and attacks on family members have no place in civilised political discourse,” Dr. Bindal added.
