Rs 2300 fined against erring traders
KARGIL MAY 01, 2021: Continuing with the massive market checking of various markets across the district following the directions of the Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, a market checking squad comprising of the officers and officials of the Enforcement Wing of FCS&CA Kargil and Police personnel of Police Post Bazar Kargil conducted a market checking of Poyen area here today.
During the course of inspection, the team thoroughly checked over 12 business establishments including vegetable shops, kiryana shops and other shops dealing in essential items, out of which 5 business establishments were penalized on spot for violating the provisions of Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and Essential Commodities Act, and a fine of Rs 2300 was collected from the offenders on spot.
During the inspection, the team advised traders and shopkeepers to abstain from charging exorbitant rates and ensure the sale of essential commodities as per the rates notified by the Administration, adding that FIR will be lodged against the defaulters.
