MCM celebrates Gandhi Jayanti
CHANDIGARH, OCTOBER 3:
Marking the celebration of Gandhi Jayanti, the Character Building Committee of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh organized an array of activities as a tribute to the Father of the Nation. The activities included a Poetry Recitation Competition, a Quiz on Gandhian Life and Philosophy, and administering oaths of Swadeshi and Swachhta. Over 30 students recited self-composed poems, in Hindi and English, based on the life and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.
The quiz on Gandhian Life and Philosophy also witnessed the enthusiastic participation of the students. The oath of Swadeshi and Swachhta was administered to the students on this occasion wherein they pledged to use Swadeshi and promote ‘Vocal for Local’, and also to promote and practice Swachhta.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava recited a self-composed poem, paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, and addressed him as the ambassador of peace, truth, and non-violence. She reiterated the need to remember his ideals as their relevance transcends the barriers of time and space.
