MCM holds electoral awareness competitions

CHANDIGARH  18  JAN  2022 

The Electoral Literacy Club of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh organised a host of online competitions for promoting electoral awareness among students. The competitions included Awareness Music Video, Radio Drama, Story Telling and Informative Programme Competitions. The participants were required to submit their entries on any one of the given themes including Democracy, My Vote is My Right, Every Vote Counts the Same, Getting Registered, Electoral Roll/ Voter List, Voter Card/ e-Epic, Ethical and Informed Voting, EVM and VVPAT, NOTA and National Voters’ Day. A total of 25 students participated in the competitions, sharing their creative ideas in the form of music video, radio Drama, story and informative programme. All the participants were awarded e-certificates.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava expressed appreciation for the efforts of the college’s Electoral Literacy Club to sensitise the youth about the importance of electoral process for a vibrant democracy. She said that an informed and responsible electorate is the cornerstone of any democracy, and such efforts go a long way in educating the electorate.
