MCM holds interaction with alumna entrepreneur Ms. Madhu

Chandigarh, 23 January 2025
True to the spirit of the motto- ‘To Care, To Share, To Sustain’, the Alumni Committee and the Association of MCM DAV Alumni (AMDA) of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, continually endeavour to invite alumnae who promote the various dimensions of sustainability. As a part of this endeavour, the college hosted alumna Ms. Madhu Mohan, Founder of Virsaa Agro, for an interaction with the students and faculty. She shared her journey as an entrepreneur who has shaped the culinary landscape with the flavours of India. She also put up a stall featuring her range of jams, pickles and dips. Ms. Mohan, through her initiative,  is not only carrying forward the legacy of healthy Indian food but is also providing employment to numerous women and preserving the centuries old Indian flavours and aromas. This role model entrepreneur interacted with students and ignited their minds towards offbeat careers and vocations. Ms. Mohan inspired the students and faculty with her commitment towards her venture and shared how she didn’t let the judgement of others daunt her and established her venture at a juncture where others choose to retire. Students and faculty members thronged her stall in large numbers and bought the savoury preserves handmade by her.
Ms Suman Mahajan, the Officiating Principal of the college, appreciated the efforts of the Alumni Committee in organising events which offer a platform for interaction between alumni and the students. She also congratulated Ms. Mohan on her successful venture.
