CHANDIGARH 29 OCTOBER 2021 :-
The Medical Committee of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, under the aegis of the college’s Internal Quality Assurance Cell, organised an enlightening interactive session with renowned Haematologist Prof Ramesh Arya. While interacting with the faculty members of the college, Prof. Arya discussed health communication as a prerequisite for making informed health related decisions. Foregrounding the example of COVID-19, he stressed upon effective, integrated and coordinated communications as integral to building a healthier future. His pertinent suggestion to equip teachers with requisite knowledge about various health issues, diseases and health management, which they can use for sensitising and educating students, was well received. In his thought provoking address, Prof Arya also shed light on the interlinkages between ethical and moral principles vis-a-vis health and well-being. He also discussed the need for a holistic education system which encompasses all these essential principles.

Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava expressed gratitude to Prof. Ramesh Arya for sharing his valuable thoughts and suggestions. She further advocated promotion of health education as it provides tools for capacity building and supports behavioural change.
