The Association of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women Alumni (AMDA) organised an online lecture titled ‘Communication Skills: Need of the Hour’ as a part of the Global Alumni Meet 2022 of Panjab University. The resource person for the session was alumna of the college Dr. Bharti Uppal (MBBS, DCH), Professor Biochemistry and Dean Academics, MMU, Solan. Dr. Bharti Uppal, in a very engaging and interactive session, shared practical tips with the participants to hone their communication skills. She emphasised that effective communication skills are very crucial for success and fulfillment in one’s professional and personal life. She also discussed the importance of non-verbal cues in the process of communication. The engaging lecture was followed by an interactive session wherein the queries of the participants were taken up by Dr. Bharti. The lecture was attended by around 100 participants.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava reinforced the need to develop good communication skills especially in a world where technological advancements offer many new tools of communication be it social media or other similar platforms. She motivated the students to work consistently towards honing their soft skills as these help one to stand out in this era of cut-throat competition.
