The Postgraduate Department of Chemistry at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh celebrated Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav by organising a lecture on ‘Advanced Technological Approaches for Environmental Remediation Applications’. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Savita Chaudhary, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, Panjab University, Chandigarh. More than 100 students and faculty members of the college attended the lecture and benefitted from it. The lecture thoughtfully carried out the vision to create awareness among the students in the direction of solving various environmental problems. The entire lecture was focused on the understanding of the role of Nanomaterial and Nano-chemistry in solving various environment related problems like waste water treatment, testing of adulteration in food items, etc.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava lauded this highly relevant initiative of the Chemistry Department to educate students about the immensely significant role of science and technology in environmental remediation. She motivated the students to adopt an innovative approach and find out applications of science for the alleviation of various problems being faced by mankind.’
