Marching forward in its endeavour to motivate young women to strive for their goals, the Postgraduate Department of English, Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh organised a session ‘Meet the Author’. The resource person, Major Priya Jhingan, Lady Cadet No. 1 of the Indian Army talked about the journey of her life which is encapsulated in her autobiography ‘Marching On’. Being a passionate story teller and a zealous speaker, she shared some life skills that stood her in good stead. Major Priya also shed light on better oratory skills and leadership qualities for success in life. The event saw the participation of over two hundred students of the college. They were extremely delighted to hear Major Priya relate her anecdotes, the challenges that she faced in her life and the choices that she made.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava, in her address, encouraged the participants to strive for their goals and work for turning their dreams into reality with dedication and focus. She added that such inspiring sessions help in motivating the students to learn from the life experiences of achievers.
