MCM holds Poetry Writing Competition on vote

With the aim of sensitising the youth about the importance of franchise for a vibrant democracy, the Electoral Literacy Club of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh organised an online Poetry Writing Competition. Held on the theme ‘Vote’, the competition elicited enthusiastic response from students of diverse streams. The participants wove a thought-provoking poetic tapestry of words to share their nuanced thoughts on the right to vote and its importance for a nation. The entries were to be submitted in either Hindi or English, and all the winners and participants were awarded e-certificates.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava lauded this initiative for driving home the message of the importance of vote in a novel manner and providing the students a platform to share their thoughts while showcasing their creativity. She added that an informed and responsible electorate is immensely significant for a thriving democracy.
