MCM participates in Clean India campaign

Taking part in the ‘Clean India’ programme of the Department of Youth Affairs, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, the Swachhta Committee (Arts) of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh organised a cleanliness drive for collection of single use plastic waste. The drive was initiated to generate awareness among students regarding Clean India and to ensure their participation in this campaign. Over 100 students participated enthusiastically in the drive. Further contributing to the campaign, the Character Building Committee of the college conducted a beautification drive of college campus with eco-friendly diyas, stone art and Best out of waste articles made by students. The drive envisioned to make the students aware about Clean India movement and to instil in them a sense of responsibility for promoting the cause of swachhta.
Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava expressed appreciation for the efforts of Swachhta and Character Building Committees for contributing effectively towards the cause of swachhta. She highlighted that for realising the dream of Swachh Bharat, the collective efforts of youth, citizens and support from all stakeholders are immensely significant.
