Meeting of Haryana Foreign Cooperation Department held with Malawi’s High Commissioner in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, December 19:  In a bid to enhance cooperation between Malawi and Haryana Government for mutual growth and prosperity a meeting of Haryana Foreign Cooperation Department (FCD) was held with Malawi’s High Commissioner to India, George Mkondiwa at Chandigarh.

During this hour-long meeting, possible collaboration in Health and medicine, skill development and training, agriculture and education sectors were discussed in detail.

Acknowledging the strength of Haryana in medical field, George Mkondiwa invited Healthcare companies to start medical centers in Malawi. He explained that though Malawi is a land locked country but it has immense economic opportunities. He envisioned great potential of enhancing bilateral trade with Haryana.

He informed that Malawi Embassy will send a formal proposal to FCD soon after this meeting and subsequently decide mutually to firm up the roadmap to develop cooperation between the governments in diverse fields.

Principal Secretary, Foreign Cooperation Department, Yogender Chaudhary briefed about growth story of Haryana and advantages of the State in terms of industry-friendly policy initiatives of the government in various sectors.  Given the similarity between Malawi and Haryana in terms of large youth population, he invited Malawi to join hands in field of education, skilling and various aspects of training besides other investment opportunities. Yogender Chaudhry expressed that the state government realizes the importance of increasing bilateral trade in regional development and Haryana is committed to build and strengthen relationship with friendly countries for mutual cooperation and growth.
