Mega Block Diwas was held today at 3 blocks of district Kulgam. The functions of the mega block diwas were held at block Devsar, Kulgam and D H Pora blocks. The programme received response from the public from all blocks besides, officers and officials from all line departments remained abuzz with listening issues, grievances and demands of people for on spot redressal. During the Mega Block Diwas officers and officials also organized awareness, registration and distribution programmes. Meanwhile to take first hand appraisal of public grievances and demands the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Showkat Aijaz Bhat remained available at Block D. H. Pora and listened to grievances, issues of people for redressal. On the occasion, the DDC distributed various certificates, sanction letters among the eligible beneficiaries. He said that the main aim of the mega block divas programme is to bring governance closer to people and to problems of people and added that the programme shall be conducted on every Wednesday on a rotational basis. Among others, the programme was attended by SDM Noorabad, ACD and officers and officials of line departments besides, a large number of people and members of PRI’s were present on the occasion.
