Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports GoI invites applications for volunteership
KARGIL, FEBRUARY 05, 2021: Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India (GoI) has invited applications from young eligible persons to volunteer in nation building activities.
The notification reads that the GoI seeks young persons to help, channelize their energies and capabilities towards nation building activities by organizing them into volunteers groups.
The volunteers will be asked to spearhead campaigns/ awareness programmes about health, literacy, sanitation, gender and other social issues. They may also be called to assist the administration in emergency or in implementation of various programmes.
In the case of Kargil District, the applications have been invited for deployment of 32 volunteers to be selected 2 from each block for field work and 2 for office work.
The minimum eligibility for the volunteers is Class 10th pass and their age should be between 18 and 29 years as on 1st April, 2021. No regular students are eligible for applying for NYC volunteership.
As regards to honorarium, the volunteers will be entitled to an honorarium of Rs. 5000/- p.m. all inclusive for two years which will neither be a paid employment nor confers any legal right on the volunteer to claim employment with the Government.

The interested candidates in the case of Kargil District may apply to the office of the District Youth Officer, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, District Kargil opposite Old Munshi Habibullah Mission School, Changrah Bazar, Kargil.
The last date for submission of applications (hard copy along with documents proof) is 20th February, 2021.
