Teams of Rupnagar & Himachal Police in a joint operation arrested accused

SSP Rupnagar Dr. Sandeep Kumar Garg, IPS said that in joint teams of Rupnagar Police and Himachal Police have arrested mischievous miscreants who were tagging Khalistani flags at District Administrative Complex and Vidhan Sabha Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh. He said that on the night between 12th and 13th April, 2022, a flag of Khalistan was put up on the grill of the outer wall of the District Administrative Complex by unknown persons. In this regard, FIR No. 52 dated 13.04.2022 U/s 124/153, 120 IPC Sections 13,16,18 under illegal activities were registered. Observing seriousness of the case, the Different teams from CIA Rupnagar were formed.

Investigations were being carried out through various aspect on the basis technical surveillance. Meanwhile, posters of Khalistan were also put up outside of Vidhan Sabha Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh on May 7, 2022. A case was also registered against unidentified miscreants at Police Station Dharamsala Himachal Pradesh FIR No. 77 dated 08.05.2022 U/S 153.
Dr. Sandeep Garg, IPS said that while conducting joint investigation of these two cases, the police had achieved a major breakthrough on April 11, 2022 when a joint teams of Himachal Pradesh and Ropar Police arrested the accused Harbir Singh alias Raju near Sugar Mill Road Morinda. He confessed during interrogation that he and Paramjit Singh alias Pamma, a resident of Roorkee Hira Police Station Sri Chamkaur Sahib had put up the posters outside Dharamsala Assembly Complex.
SSP Rupnagar said that during the investigation, the call details of the mobile numbers of the accused and the dump data records of the mobile towers were examined and it was found that the location of the mobiles of the accused was at the place of the incident around 12:20 pm. Accused Harbir Singh alias Raju also confessed during interrogation that he and Paramjit Singh alias Pamma had put up Khalistan posters on the outer wall of District Administrative Complex Ropar. He said that another accused Paramjit Singh alias Pamma is being searched on a war footing. Different teams have been deployed to nab him.
Ha said that after arresting the accused Harbir Singh alias Raju, police remand will be obtained and information will be obtained as who directed him to carry out the incident.
