Chandigarh, September 5 2021
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday congratulated the agitating farmers and organisers on the success of Maha Panchayat organized by Sanyukt Kisan Morcha against the anti-agriculture black laws at Muzaffarnagar, stating that the message of this Maha Panchayat should be understood by the Central government. According to the AAP, if Prime Minister Narendra Modi still does not give up his insistence on black farm laws, all political parties, including the BJP, will have to pay the price.
In a statement issued from the party headquarters here on Sunday, senior leader and MLA Aman Arora said the Muzaffarnagar Kisan Maha Panchayat has given a very clear message to the people of the country as well as the state and central government; which will have profound and far-reaching effects on society and politics.
Aman Arora said that Muzaffarpur, which has been used by narrow minded political parties for communalism, has today given a unique message of communal unity to the communal forces. Therefore, the entire Kisan Morcha, including the leading farmer leader Rakesh Tikait, the farmers and farm workers and every countryman who begs for the welfare of the ‘annadatas’ deserves congratulations. He said that today the country needs forces to unite through socio-religious and communal harmony.
The AAP leader said that the farmers’ movement, which has been going on for nine months for its existence, has demonstrated the strength of communal harmony and unity. Arora appealed to Prime Minister Modi and the entire BJP to withdraw the anti-agriculture black laws, stating that if the black laws were not withdrawn, not only the BJP but also its political allies would have to pay a heavy price.
He said that Kisan Maha Panchayat has also given a strong response to the propaganda of the central government through which the BJP and its allies had disrupted the farmers’ movement. Similarly, the Muzaffarnagar Maha Panchayat has also made it clear that the agitating farmers will not return home till the deadly black farm laws are repealed. “Not only this, today’s Mahapanchayat has also made it clear that this movement is not confined to the wings of Delhi but has spread all over the country,” he added.
Aman Arora said that the Aam Aadmi Party has opposed the anti-agriculture ordinances and black laws from inside and outside Parliament from the very beginning. He said support has been given to the farmers’ movement by rising above the party level, which will continue in the future as well.
