Financial assistance of more than Rs 341 crore given to the beneficiaries
Explore policy possibilities to give more than 9000 houses built by Housing Board to the needy under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Sanjeev Kaushal

In Haryana, 26,243 houses have been built under the Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC) component of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). Under this scheme with the goal of providing roof to every family, an amount of Rs. 341.92 crore has been provided as financial assistance to the beneficiaries.

In addition, home loans have been sanctioned to 32,216 beneficiaries under the Credit Link Subsidy Scheme and interest subsidy of Rs.674.95 crore has been disbursed.
This information was given in the 15th meeting of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) held here today under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal.
Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal directed the officers to allot plots under the BLC component of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) to the beneficiaries of Valmiki Basti, Karnal at the earliest and within 15 days from the date of issue of intent letter, the first instalment to build houses should be released, directed the Chief Secretary.
He further directed that a deadline should be fixed for releasing the next installment and facilitating credit through banks so that people can construct houses at the earliest.
Sh. Kaushal also directed the officers concerned to explore possibilities in policy to allot more than 9000 houses constructed by the Housing Board to the needy under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Apart from this, he also directed to expedite the work of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) so that all the needy can get a roof.
It was informed in the meeting that the performance of Haryana in Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) has been remarkable. The target for the year 2021-22 has been almost completed and in the year 2022-23 a target has been set to build 20,000 houses.
The Chief Secretary was apprised that a survey was conducted in the year 2017, in which 2,48,657 beneficiaries were identified who do not have houses and a target of constructing 1,18,016 houses was set.

Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary, Housing for All Department, Sh. Anil Malik, Additional Chief Secretary, Public Health Engineering Department, Sh. A K Singh, Principal Secretary, Urban Local Bodies Department, Sh. Arun Gupta, Director General, Housing for All, Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi and other senior officers also remained present on this occasion.
