IAS/PCS or other Gazetted Officers will be deputed as observers: Raman Behl
Examination centers divided into circles and SP/DSP level officers appointed as circle incharge

Approximately 2 lakh 34 thousand candidates have applied for 1152 posts of Ziledar, Revenue Patwari and Nehri Patwari. More than 550 examination centers have been set up in 13 districts across Punjab and Chandigarh.
Disclosing this, Chairman of Punjab State Subordinate Services Selection Board, Mr. Raman Bahl said in a press conference here today that written examination for these posts of Revenue Department and Water Resources Department, will be conducted by Subordinate Services Selection Board, Punjab on 8th August. Admit card for written test, instructions and other information related to the test has been made available on the Board’s website www.sssb.punjab.gov.in.
Chairman Mr. Bahl said that the Punjab Government has appointed Deputy Commissioners as incharge of concerned districts in order to conduct the examination in a smooth and seamless manner. IAS/PCS or other Gazetted Officers appointed as Observers in each examination center. The SSPs of the concerned districts have been made in-charge of security arrangements. The examination centers are divided into circles by the police department to monitor the security arrangements and strict vigil. SP/DSP level officers will be in charge of each circle. He said that tenfold candidates of the actual posts would be invited for the second phase examination in each category for which centers would be set up at Chandigarh only.
Mr. Bahl said that to maintain impartiality and transparency in the examinations and to curb the activities of anti-social elements, the examination centers of the candidates have been set up in other nearest districts instead of their own. The Board has written to the Punjab Government to run public transport at its peak and ensure uninterrupted supply in examination centers on August 8 for the convenience of the candidates
Chairman said that the recruitment would be done purely on merit basis and scanned copy of OMR sheet would be made available on the website of the board immediately after the examination. Ultra-modern tech tools like BioMetric, Jammers, Videography and others, also be used to maintain transparency. There will be no interview during the exam. He advised the candidates not to fall prey to activities of anti-social elements and be focused to prepare hard for the examination.
