Listens to grievances, developmental needs of people at Akshow village
KARGIL, MAY 27, 2021: During his visit to the Zanskar Sub Division Member Parliament (MP) Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal took stock of the progress of the ongoing widening and construction works on the Kargil-Zanskar Highway (NH-301) at Rangdum here on Wednesday.
Councillor Cha Constituency Stanzin Lakpa, Nominated Councillor Stanzin Chosgial, SDM Sankoo Ghulam Mohiuddin Wani, SDM Zanskar Sonam Dorjay, Tehsildar Sankoo, BDO Taisuru Block, Executive Engineer PWD Zanskar and SHO Zanskar accompanied the MP Ladakh during the visit.
General Manager (NHIDCL) Colonel Ashwini Kumar and his team informed the MP Ladakh that the progress of work on the national highway is going at a good pace and all out efforts are being made to complete the remaining widening and construction works within the stipulated timelines.
MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal while taking stock of the status of the ongoing works directed the concerned officers to enroll more local laborers in the road construction works so as to achieve the progress within allotted time, adding he said that this also help in giving fillip to the local economy.
En route Zanskar, MP Ladakh also met public representatives and locals at Akshow village and listened to their issues, grievances and local needs.
The MP gave a patient hearing to all issues assured the locals that all issues will be addressed in a phased manner. He further said that fourfold compensation will be paid in favor of those persons whose private land has come under NH-301 as sanctioned by the District Administration for the rural areas of Kargil district.
MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal on the occasion also said that in near future a proposal for construction of a tunnel project at Penzila Pass will also be submitted to the Central Government for early sanction.
