— Announces Schedule of Awareness Camps

Municipal Corporation. Mohali led by Commissioner, Mrs Navjot Kaur has launched a comprehensive awareness campaign for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, a transformative initiative by the Government of India aimed at providing affordable housing to economically disadvantaged individuals and families.
Divulging the details, Joint Commissioner, Mrs Kiran Sharma said that the PM Awas Yojana, launched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, GoI, strives to address the housing needs of the urban poor including marginalized communities. The PMAY aimed to provide affordable housing to the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Middle-Income Groups (MIG), and Low-Income Groups (LIG).
Assistant Commissioner, Manpreet Singh adds that the People who owns a kutcha house and not pucca house are eligible for PMAY 2023. Also, the annual income of the applicant should not be more than Rs 3 lakh. Finally, family members should not have availed any other housing scheme given by the government.
Commissioner Navjot Kaur said that the Municipal Corporation Mohali recognizes the importance of this scheme in improving the living conditions of the city’s residents and is committed to facilitating its implementation. As a part of this commitment, the Corporation has initiated a series of awareness camps at various locations throughout the city. These camps provide a platform for interested individuals and families to learn about the scheme, receive guidance on the application process, and apply for PM Awas Yojana with ease.
She further said the Municipal Corporation Mohali encourages all eligible individuals and families, especially the economically disadvantaged, to take advantage of the PM Awas Yojana scheme and secure a brighter and more secure future through affordable housing. Together, we can work towards a Mohali where everyone has a roof over their heads.
The Awareness camps that are coming on next days have been scheduled as under; October 12 at Valmiki Temple, Langarhal, Mataur, October 13 at H. No 11, Councillor House, Shahimajra, October 13 at Gurudwara Sahib Mohali, October 16 at Dera Sahib Gurdwara, Sohana, October 17 at Kumbhra. She has appealed to the eligible people to come to the camps to get the benefit of the scheme.
