Anyone found indulged in stubble burning, strict action will be taken, DC Aashika Jain
Asked the SDMs and Nodal Officers to be careful of farm fire incidents and take prompt action

Deputy Commissioner Mrs Aashika Jain has cautioned the Nambardars and Contesting Candidates of Gram Panchayat Elections not to indulge in stubble burning issues otherwise strict action will be initiated against them on found guilty.
Taking stock of the farm fire incidents and availability of Crop Residue Management Machinery, DC Jain said that not only Nambardars and Contesting Candidates, if any government employee also found guilty in farm fire incidents, besides taking action as per the directions of the Supreme Court and National Green Tribunal, a disciplinary proceeding would also be initiated against the concerned employee.
She said that so far six incidents of stubble burning have been reported by Satellite. The owners of the land have been imposed with environmental compensation besides marking red entries in the Revenue Record, she added.
Insisting on providing crop residue management machinery to the farmers as per need through the Custom Hiring Centers, Panchayats and Individual Farmers to whom the machinery has been provided by the Government from 50 to 80 per cent subsidy, she said that the farmers who have already started harvesting or completed the harvesting should be contacted by the village Nodal Officer for requirement of the machinery.
The Deputy Commissioner while stressing joint monitoring in coordination with police counterparts, said that the officers deputed on curbing stubble burning jobs keep visible about the areas under harvesting to ensure no possibility of stubble burning.
She said that the Nodal Officers and Cluster Officers must carry the contact numbers of crop residue management machinery handlers to get their services in the villages, where they have been deputed.
ADC (G) Viraj S Tidke, ADC (D) Sonam Chaudhary, SDMs Gurmander Singh, Amit Gupta and Damandeep Kaur, CMFO Deepankar Garg, Assistant Commissioner (G) Dr Ankita Kansal, DRO Amandeep Chawla and Tehsildars Birkaran Singh Derabassi, Arjun Singh Grewal Mohali and Naib Tehsildars of the district were present in the meeting.
