National Unity Day celebrated at MCM

Chandigarh, 6 November:
The NSS units and Medical Committee of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Sector 36-A, Chandigarh, organized a speech competition to commemorate ‘National Unity Day’. It centered around the theme “Global Peace and Harmony: Issues, Challenges, and Solutions,” and aimed to stimulate insightful perspectives on a matter of great global significance. The competition received enthusiastic participation from students who left no stone unturned to give their best and focused on the Gandhian principle of ‘An eye for an eye will make the whole world blind’. Winners of the competition were given away cash prizes (First prize: Rs.1500, Second prize: Rs.1100, Third prize: Rs.800) and certificates. The prizes were bagged by Himakshi Sharma (First Prize), Gurleen Kaur (Second Prize), and Ramanpreet Kaur (Third Prize). Consolation prizes were given to Ritika Sharma and Riya Chaturvedi. The principal of the college, Dr. Nisha Bhargava stressed the need to focus on harmony and seeking solutions through the exchange of ideas rather than strife and friction.
