Nayagaon residents to march till CM house on Nov 24 to save their homes

Nayagaon residents to oppose Sukhna ESZ upto 3 kms

In order to save their houses from getting demolished the residents of Nayagaon, Kansal, Karoran and Nadda will march upto the home of CM Bhagwant Singh Mann on Nov 24. People will press for their demand of keeping Sukhna sanctuary ESZ upto 100 mts. The chairman of Nayagaon Ghar Bachao Manch – a common platform of political, social and religious organizations – Vineet Joshi said while addressing media persons at Nayagaon today. It is pertinent to mention here that the senior BJP leader Vineet Joshi had raised this issue first to make Nayagaon residents aware of it.

Joshi was flanked by Nayagaon Municipal Council President and BJP leader Gurdhyan Singh, AAP councillor Gurpreet Singh Pappi, Akali Dal councillor Gurbachan Singh, BJP councillors Surinder Kaushish Babbal and Pramod Kumar, social worker and former Councillor Deep Dhillon, BJP mandal president Joginder Pal Gujjar and mandal General secretary Naresh and Sanjay Gupta, Sada Shiv Mandir Committee Nayagaon President Raj Kumar Fauji, Nayagaon market association president Umesh Guliyani, Mithlanchal Chhatth Puja Samiti Nayagaon president Gyan Chand Bhandari and General Secretary Kameshwar Shah, Mithlanchal Vikas Sabha tricity Phool Chand Mandal, Auto Union Singha Devi’s Prabhu Mukhiya, Mazdoor Sena mahamantri Madan Mandal, gau sewa prmukh Sushil Rohilla and others.

Joshi said that it is very surprising that the same government, the same department can have two standards for the same subject. Forest and Wildlife Conservation Department Punjab has fixed 100 meter as Eco sensitive zone for 13 Wildlife sanctuaries in the state where as for the Sukhna wildlife sanctuary the same ESZ has been fixed at 3 km.

Nayagaon Municipal Council Chairman Gurdhyan Singh, Aam Aadmi Party Councillor Gurpreet Singh Pappi, Akali Dal Councillor Gurbachan Singh, Councillor Surinder Babbal, Councillor Pramod Kumar announced that on 22 November they will hold a special meeting of the Nayagaon Municipal Council to oppose the proposed 3-kilometer Sukhna ESZ for Sukhna Wildlife Sanctuary and pass a resolution to keep it at 100 meters.
