New chapter of all round development of rural areas

Mahatma Gandhi NREGA scheme has played a very important role in providing employment in rural areas during the Corona period. More than 18 lakh new job cards were issued during this period. More than 34 crore man-days were created during the Covid period, which is the highest ever since the inception of the scheme. In the financial year 2021-22, more than 19 crore mandays have been created by providing employment to more than 76 lakh villagers till September 2021. During this period, more than 2 lakh 24 thousand community and beneficiary oriented works were completed and more than 12 lakh 80 thousand works are still in progress.
