Chandigarh, September 2 – Haryana Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that Haryana will make a significant contribution towards realizing Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi’s dream, “To make India TB-free by the year 2025”. In this series, he said that if any Tuberculosis (TB) patient comes to any private doctor in Haryana or to any clinic, then his information will have to be given to the Health Department of Haryana Government / Office of the concerned Civil Surgeon. He further said that strict action will be taken against private hospitals and laboratories for not giving information regarding TB patients.
Sh. Vij gave this information during a meeting held through video conference under the Chairmanship of Union Health and Family Welfare Minister, Sh. Mansukh Mandaviya here today. He said that all such private doctors, clinics will have to provide information to the government regarding TB patients so that no problem arises in future.
Similarly, Sh. Vij suggested that we should also start such a scheme at the National Level in which TB patients can be given supplements. He said that this supplement should be given only to the patients undergoing treatment for TB. Besides this, he also suggested that an app should also be developed in this regard and there should be geo-location of every patient so that it can be verified at regular intervals such that when medicines are given to such patients, then the spread of the disease can be monitored.
The Health Minister said that the State has dealt with Covid very bravely although COVID infection affected the State due to its proximity with Delhi. But the State’s Health Department officials fought it bravely and were successful as well. Likewise, the Department will be able to eradicate Tuberculosis (TB) as well while working closely with ASHA workers, doctors and other officials. He said that we will definitely fulfill the Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi’s dream to make the country TB-free by the year 2025.
