SHIMLA 25 July,2021 : Urban Development Minister Suresh Bhardwaj held a meeting of Shimla MC and SJPNL officials and reviews the schemes and water situation in Shimla.
The minister directed SJPNL to complete the 24*7 water supply work by July end. The Minister said there should not be delay in the implementation of project.
The minister also asked to construct tube settler at LWSS at Giri by July end to end the silt problem while lifting water to Shimla.
The minister also reviewed the other schemes and cautioned officials to meet the deadlines. MC commissioner Ashish Kohli is asked to complete the Dhingudhar parking and park near Oak Over within two months.
SJPNL is executing work for constructing Tube settler at LWSS Giri. This will facilitate tackling silt during monsoon season. The cost is approximately Rs 1.00Cr.
SJPNL has replaced major pumping machinery at LWSS Gumma and Giri thus saving Rs 6.00Cr on annual expenditure on electricity.
SJPNL is upgrading 06 number STPs with new SBR technology. This will help in generating World Class effluents from Sewage generated upto 2035.The cost is Rs 34.00Cr.
SJPNL is executing pilot project of 24×7 pressurized water supply in 05 wards at Sanjauli. The estimated cost is Rs 21.00Cr.
SJPNL is constructing two major water storage tanks at PeterHoff and Dhalli of 7.00ML and 10.00ML capacity. This will create buffer storage of water to meet any exigency.
