The BJP-sponsored “Operation Lotus” aimed at the Shiromani Akali Dal will fail, asserted Paramjit Singh Sarna, the chief of the party’s Delhi unit. He responded to a faction attempting to destabilise the historic Sikh party.
“The world is aware of the BJP’s tactics to merge or acquire opposition groups and state governments led by non-BJP parties,” Sarna remarked. “Those who passed an anti Akali resolution have exposed themselves in Punjab, which has wholly rejected the saffron ideology.”
Sarna vowed that no BJP effort to saffronize the Shiromani Akali Dal, a party rooted in Sikh martyrdom, would be allowed to succeed.
“The Sikh community is very well aware of the pro-BJP stance of those trying to seize control of the Shiromani Akali Dal. They have ruined their political future in Punjab,” stated the Delhi Akali chief.
