Chandigarh, June 3 –  Ahead of the grand Opening Ceremony of the fourth season of Khelo India Youth Games-2021, Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex, Panchkula has been illuminated with colourful lights. The stadium has become a centre of attraction for not only the people of Haryana but for the players and spectators coming from other states.

During these games, players and spectators are certainly going to have a tremendous experience of Haryana’s hospitality.

Ahead of the inaugural function at Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex, Panchkula, a special visit was organized for the media persons to get an exceptional experience of the preview of the preparations for the games.

Union Home Minister, Sh. Amit Shah will formally launch these games from Panchkula on June 4, 2022.  Special preparations have been made for this opening ceremony.  The main stage has been decorated in a modernistic state of art  manner. Also, special seating arrangements have been made for the players and spectators. Not only this but huge screens have also been installed on the ground so that the audience can experience unforgettable moments.

The ‘Khelo India Youth Games-2021’ hosted by Haryana is being jointly organized by the State Government, Sports Authority of India (SAI), and Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports from June 4 to June 13, 2022.

In the Khelo India Youth Games, Haryana’s Mascot ‘Dhakad’ will become a symbol of the sports culture of the state

On hearing the names of Mascots Jaya and Vijay of Khelo India Youth Games, their adorable image comes alive in the mind and fills the sports lovers with even more enthusiasm. But in the fourth edition of Khelo India Youth Games – 2021, going to be held in Haryana, this time along with Jaya and Vijay, the audience will also get to see Haryana’s own Mascot Dhakad, which is a symbol of Haryana’s food and sports culture here.

The Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex, Panchkula will be the main venue of these sports competitions. The venue has a seating capacity of around 7,000 spectators. Archery and football competitions will be held at Panjab University, Chandigarh, while swimming and gymnastics games will be held at Ambala.  Hockey will be held in Shahabad and cycling and shooting competitions will be held in Delhi. Five traditional sports namely Gatka, Kalaripayattu, Thang-Ta, Malkhamb and Yogasana have also been included in this prestigious competition for the first time.

The position that Haryana has achieved in the field of sports is a fruitful result of the hard work of the players and the Sports Policy of the State Government and today, based on this identity, Haryana is hosting the fourth edition of Khelo India Youth Games-2021 which is a matter of pride for every Haryanvi.
