First meeting of ‘Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority’ held
Chandigarh, July 20 :-
Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that Panchkula will be developed on the lines of Gurugram and Faridabad.
The Chief Minister was presiding over the first meeting of the ‘Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority’ here today.
Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Sh. Gian Chand Gupta, Transport Minister, Sh. Moolchand Sharma, Urban Local Bodies Minister, Dr. Kamal Gupta, Haryana Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal, Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. DS Dhesi, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. V. Umashankar, Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Sh. PK Das, Additional Chief Secretary, Town and Country Planning Department, Sh. Devender Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance and Planning Department, Sh. TVSN Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary, Housing for All Department, Sh. Anil Malik, Principal Secretary, Urban Local Bodies Department, Sh. Arun Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce, Sh. Vijayendra Kumar, CEO, Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority, Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi and many other senior officers were present.
The Chief Minister, who is also the Chairman of the Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority, said that the the development of Panchkula district will be accelerated with the formation of the Panchkula Metropolitan Development Authority. He said that the objective of the government behind the formation of the authority is to provide quality life to the residents of Panchkula by generating employment opportunities there. He said that the State Government will implement several schemes for the sustainable, long-term and balanced development of Panchkula.
Sh. Ajit Balaji Joshi explained in detail about the various IT initiatives proposed in the first meeting of the Authority, besides establishment of the Authority, Resource Mobilization. Apart from starting city bus service in Panchkula, the possibilities of starting many other facilities were also laid out.
