Chandigarh, June 22 :- Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has caught a Patwari and his tout red-handed for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000 in lieu of mutation of land in Karnal district.
Sharing the information here today, a spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that Rajinder, Patwari and his tout Harcharan alias Rinku were nabbed on the complaint of Rattan Singh of village Jundla, Karnal. The complaint states that accused is demanding Rs 40,000 and they had already taken Rs 10,000 in exchange of mutation of land.
The complainant approached the Vigilance Bureau when Patwari and his aide demanded money for the mutation of land. After verifying the complaint, a team was constituted which laid a trap and caught both the accused while accepting a bribe of Rs 30,000.
The spokesperson further added that investigation in this case is being done after the registration of a case against both accused under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
