PHDC CIcelebrates International Women’s Day 2022

To mark the celebration of International Women’s Day, PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry organized Virtual Session on Women’s Story on Women’s Day 2022 on 3 March 2022.Eminent personalities from diverse backgrounds shared their vast professional & real life experiences & motivated the participants.

While sharing her success story, Guest of Honor, Ms.PoonamKhairaSidhu, IRS Chief Commissioner of Income Tax Regional Faceless Assessment Centre(ReFAC), Ludhiana spoke about the support which she got from family that encouraged her to get into Civil services. She further spoke about importance of Networking & Mentoring in achieving success; how networking paves a way to greater opportunities and mentor’s role in honing the skills.
Mr.SuvratKhanna, Co-Chair, Chandigarh Chapter, PHDCCI & MD, Khanna Watches Ltd. in his welcome remarks, advocated that giving more opportunities to women is a manifestation of good economic sense. There are many women leaders who have led the country and the government in diverse political and socio-economic contexts.
Ms.SartajLamba, Regional Convener, Women Entrepreneurs Committee PHDCCI & CEO, A J Travels (P) Ltd.moderated the session and illuminated participants on Women empowerment and the robust atmosphere in India of Women Entrepreneurs in MSME sector.
Ms.ChayaaNanjappa, Founder, Nectar Freshinformed participants how Nectar fresh was set up under the Khadi& Village Commission with the aim of empowering rural women.
Dr.SarikaVerma, Environmentalist shared her belief of woman being self-sufficient and independent. She encouraged the participants to follow own passion, maintain independence, give time to self and live to the fullest.
Ms.Mandeep Kaur Tangra, Founder & CEO, SimbaQuartz shared her journey from a normal village resident to a TEDex Speaker & Entrepreneur. She spoke about the importance of education for women and her vision to empower and honing the skills of women hailing from rural areas making them competent and independent.
