Deputy Commissioner Isha Kalia took stock of the situation while dispatching polling parties at SAS Nagar

In view of tomorrow’s polls for SAS Nagar Assembly constituency, District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Isha Kalia said that for the 907 polling booths in the three assembly constituencies falling under SAS Nagar district, Polling parties have been dispatched with election materials from dufferent places in three constituencies. She said that for 316 polling booths in Vidhan Sabha constituency 052-Kharar polling parties were dispatched from Polytechnic College Khunimajra , for 271 polling booths in Vidhan Sabha constituency-053 SAS Nagar from Sports Complex Sector 78 SAS and for 320 booths in Assembly constituency-112 Dera Bassi polling parties were dispatched from Government College Dera Bassi . All the election observers were present at the occasion and they expressed their satisfaction over the process of dispatching of polling parties .

Deputy Commissioner cum District Election Officer Mrs. Isha Kalia while reviewing the departure of the polling parties said that these polling parties would report to the concerned Assistant Returning Officers at their place of departure after the completion of polling and these EVM, VVPAT machines will be delivered under strict security arrangements through Global Positioning System (GPS) fitted vehicles .
She appealed to the officers / employees from various departments to perform their election duties with utmost sincerity and diligence. She said that all the arrangements for the polling to be held on February 20 have been completed by the district administration .
She said that the administration was fully prepared to conduct the polls in a peaceful manner. She said that voting time would be from 8 am to 6 pm. She asked the voters to cast their votes without any fear and co-operate with the administration to maintain peace and tranquility during the elections. She said that besides the district police force, para-military force of CAPF and other security forces have also been deployed.
