Says district still under red zone, strict adherence to Covid-19 SOPs, key to contain further spread
BUDGAM, JUNE 03, 2021: The Deputy commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza today informed that the positivity rate has come down enormously in the district, and called for strict adherence to Covid-19 SOPs, guidelines to come out of red zone and prevent further spread of virus in the district.
while briefing the Media persons, the DC said that till yesterday there were 12465 cases reported, however from Ist April 10587 patients have since recovered and presently there are 1878 active cases in the district.
He said that the recovery rate has reached to 85 percent and above, and is showing increasing trend day by day.
Regarding active rate ratio, the DC said it was 2 percent and above however since last 2 days, it has come down that shows the graph of positivity is coming down gradually.
Mira said there is message for the general public that they shall follow all guidelines, SOPs strictly as already notified. There shall be no laxity from any one in adhering to the instructions as the danger has not diminished yet, as it still looms around so taking precautions is the best prevention, he added.
Giving details about the vaccination status in the district, the DC said that vaccination to the age group of 18 to 44 years is going on smoothly across district, in addition vaccination to the age group of 45 and above in the whole district has taken place and the target has reached to 77 percent. He said there is hope that in coming period the district administration shall be able to achieve 100 percent target.
The DC during the briefing appealed to the all concerned age category groups to kindly visit nearby vaccination centers as early as possible, get vaccinated, keep yourself safe, leave aside all apprehensions, be sure that vaccineas are safe having no side effects.
Regarding establishing of Covid Care Centers at panchayat level, the DC said that the necessary infrastructure with requisite facilities have been established at all 296 panchayats. He appealed to the public that if there is any Covid positive patient in their vicinity or in their homes, they should take him to nearest centre for treatment and observation with this arrangement both his family members as well as people around him can be saved from getting infected.
Regarding restrictions, the DC said that the District Budgam is still under Red Zone category, so already issued guidelines/restrictions are very much there. General public is requested to adhere these all, however violations shall not be tolerated and the concerned violator will be booked and punished as per law, he added.
