Tai Suru Block Inspects health care facilities, progress of various health programs
KARGIL, AUGUST 11, 2021 On the 3rd day of his Kargil visit, Principal Secretary Health Ladakh Dr Pawan Kotwal visited Sankoo and Tai Suru Block and took stock of patient care facilities at various health centres in the area including Community Health Centre (CHC) Sankoo and Primary Health Center (PHC) Panikhar.
The Principal Secretary Health also visited the 20 bedded hospital at Gond Mangalore and took stock of the pace of progress on the construction of the health institute.
Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Former MLC and Councillor Sankoo Aga Syed Ahmad Razvi, Divisional Forest Officer Kargil Sajid Sultan, Chief Medical Officer Kargil Dr Munawar Hussain Wazir, Tehsildars of Sankoo and Tai Suru, Executive Engineer SVD besides other concerned officers of various departments accompanied the Principal Secretary during the visit.
Dr Pawan Kotwal inspected different sections of CHC Sankoo including the General Ward, Dental Section, X-ray Room, Labour Room, Dispensary Section, Minor and Major Operation Theatre, Laboratory, Cold Chain Room, Eye OPD, Gynae and Labour Ward and other sections and wards of the health centre.
The Principal Secretary directed the concerned officers to propose the up gradation and electrification of the hospital in this year’s plan. He said that electricity should remain dedicated and uninterrupted to the hospital, adding he said that for this all required measures should be taken.
Dr Kotwal also interacted with the patients and attendants and inquired from them about the facilities being extended to them at the CHC. He also took stock of the status of Covid care facilities and directed that once the Covid pandemic is over, CBNat machines should be used for the treatment of acute diseases like Tuberculosis and other respiratory ailments.
BMO Sankoo Dr Ghulam Hussain informed the Principal Secretary that the CHC is equipped with all modern machines and infrastructure to cater to the patients of the block and the daily registration of OPD patients is around 50-60.
Dr Kotwal while expressing satisfaction over the availability of patient care facilities and level of sanitation and hygiene at CHC Sankoo appreciated the BMO and the paramedical staff, and directed that the Surgeon and Anaesthetist of the CHC should be sent for a 15 day refresher course at the District Hospital Kargil.
The Principal Secretary also visited Primary Health Centre (PHC) Panikhar where he interacted with the health workers and patients.
BMO Dr Sajjad Hussain informed the Principal Secretary about the services and facilities being provided to the patients at the PHC.
The Principal Secretary directed the concerned officers to submit a proposal for up gradation of the PHC as CHC and to take necessary measures in this regard.
Meanwhile, the Principal Secretary was also apprised about various issues and demands of the health care workers at CHC Sankoo and PHC Panikhar including job policy for NRHM health workers, incentives for dentists, regularisation of casual labourers and outsourcing of safai karamcharis.
Dr Pawan Kotwal also visited the SDM Office Sankoo and interacted with the revenue officers of the sub division. He directed that the process of works pertaining to public welfare should be accelerated and documentation works should be completed at the earliest possibility. He also visited the 20 bedded hospital at Gond Mangalpore and took stock of the status of on-going works on the construction of the hospital building.
