PANCHAYAT DEPT OFFICERS CONDUCT IMPORTANT MEETING WITH FARM LABOR UNIONS
OFFICERS FROM SIX DISTRICTS PARTICIPATED

On the directions of Chief Minister Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh, a committee was formed under Local Government Minister Mr Brahm Mohindra on August 25 to look into demands and problems of farm laborers. Following the directions of Punjab Governmnet and Mr. Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa Rural Development and Panchyat Minister,
Mr. Manpreet Singh Chhatwal Director Rural Development and Panchayat, today held a meeting with various farm labor unions at Barnala.
The problems pertaining to allotment of 5 marlas of plots in rural areas and reservation of one-third area from shyamlat land were discussed. Representatives of various rural farm unions discussed problems district-wise and village-wise.
Giving a patient hearing to the problems of farm laborers, the Director (Rural Development and Panchayat) directed concerned officials to dispose all the problems in a time bound manner.
During the meeting Dihati mazdoor Sabha Union state president Darshan Nahar, Punjab Khet Mazdoor Union state president Zora Singh Nasrali, general secretary Lachhman Singh Sewewala, Pendu Mazdoor Union Punjab state secretary Kashmir Singh Ghugsher, Mazdoor Mukti Morcha Punjab state leader Makhan Singh Ramgarh, Krantikari Pendu Mazdoor Union (Punjab) state president Sanjeev Mintu, Krantikari Pendu Mazdoor Union (Punjab) state executive member Kulwant Singh Selbrah, Punjab Khet Mazdoor Sabha state vice president Comrade Kishan Chauhan pointed out that policies formed for them had certain legal anomalies in it, which needs to be sorted out. Director Mr Chhatwal assured that all aspects in this regard will be discussed and sorted out.
