DELEGATION OF FOREST WORKERS’ UNION CALLS ON FOREST MINISTER
Chandigarh, December 11– Punjab Forest Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot said that the proposal regarding regularising the services of the temporary employees would be shortly sent to the Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh.
Divulging this after holding meeting with the forest employees’ union, Cabinet Minister said that a thorough process would be followed to prepare a proposal for regularizing the services of temporary employees. He said that directions had also been issued to the officials to prepare the seniority list of the employees based on the proper records.
Dharamsot said that to ensure the success of the plantation, the work of filling the bags in the nurseries and digging holes for the plantation must be started in advance.
He said that professional approach should be adopted during plantation besides ensuring upkeep of saplings. The Minister also instructed priority should be given to plantation of saplings of plants on roadsides having length above five feet. The Minister also emphasised to ensure maximum participation of general masses in noble cause of plantation drive thus preserving the environment.
He directed the officials of the department to clear the pending dues of the employees and funds for procuring uniforms and ensuring uniformity in the daily wage rates.
On the occasion, Chief Forest Conservator Jatinder Sharma, MD Forest Corporation Anoop Upadhyay, Additional Chief Forest Conservator Parveen Kumar, Additional Chief Wildlife RK Mishra, Forest Conservator Vishal Chauhan, representatives of workers’ union including Amrik Singh, Balvir Singh, Ranjeet Singh, Jasvir Singh, Gurbinder Singh, and Shiv Kumar were present.
